May 8th - Highbridge Park - Field 2

All things were working as The Mighty Dukes from P.S. 4 beat the boys from P.S. 128, 14 - 2. Coming into the game with a new confidence after tying their last game with P.S. 173, The boys from 4 were on point.

The Captain Ramon Mora started the game and pitched three strong innings giving up only two runs.
First Baseman/ Outfielder Elvin Perez started the game as The Catcher but ended it with a strong effort at first base.
Third baseman Jonathan Mejia played a very solid game at third base also managing two base hits.
A great defensive play by Centerfielder Lisangel Cortorreal in the beginning of the game set the defensive tone and was a sign of more things to come.

May 1st - Highbridge Park - Field 1

It was a different outcome on this day but not the on the Mighty Dukes expected. After a humiliating defeat, The Mighty Dukes did not lose their next game but they didn't win it either managing to tie the boys from P.S. 173, 6-6. Even though the boys from 4 did score the winning run, the run was scored on an out while time ran out on the game. While the outcome was not a win, it was seen as a positive step towards reaching the ultimate goal of winning the Turn 2 Us championship because the boys of 4 played alot better.
The Captain, Ramon Mora contributed greatly to the tie not only by playing third but by coming in to relieve Jonathan Mejia. His gutsy performance cemented his status as a leader among his teammates!

Catcher Christian Sepulveda played an excellent game defensively by manning the backstop, working with his pitching staff and helping the infielders make the right plays.

Shortstop Adrian Rosario also chipped in with some base knocks.
But probably the most important play of the day was when Outfielder Cassey Mendes was able to move two runners over by hitting a groundball to the pitcher.
All in all it was a good game and showed to the other teams in the league that The Mighty Dukes are a force to be reckoned with.

April 24th - Schiff Field!

Suffering from the absence of their coach, Coach Harris and not having practiced much, The Mighty Dukes lost their first game of the year, 14 -2. Coached by Mr. Rosario, Adrian's dad and Ms. T., The Dukes were caught off guard by the boys from the other school. After the loss, the team and the coach vowed to work harder on and off the field to reverse the outcome for the next game.

Welcome!
